My goal for my WordPress site was to provide people with an opportunity to learn skateboard tricks as well as general skateboarding culture. Overall, I think the site accomplished this in that I provided step-by-step instructions for skateboard tricks and background information on those tricks. I also included a page to locate skateparks as well as a website for skateboarding materials and clothes. With the content provided, I feel that the user is able to gain enough insight to generally understand skateboarding and the significance of certain maneuvers.

I personally enjoyed creating this site because it gave me a little more insight as well. I think one of the most effective features was the my “Essentials” page that has 3 links for the user to explore. However, there were things that weren’t so effective like the search bar I included on the right side. There is only one page to my site so everything is easily accessible. If I could choose something to improve it would definitely be correcting my lack of photos in some of my posts. This overall experience gave me a clearer understanding of the essential ingredients for blogging and I might even use some of these techniques later in my career. I plan on working in a creative promotional field, advertising specifically, so knowing how to promote a page and catering it to certain people was beneficial.

According to WordPress’ site stats, my most popular week was October 22nd through October 28th totaling 5 views and 1 visitor. My most popular post of the semester was “The Kickflip” with a total of 2 views. My realistic assumption is that my lab teacher might have just reloaded the page. According to Twitter analytics, two of my posts with WordPress links got a total of 10 impressions each. However, the links were not clicked on because this did not affect the WordPress page views.
